I’m originally from New York City. I moved to Atlanta to attend Spelman College where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. I later received my certification in Early Childhood Education k-5 from Agnes Scott College. I am currently completing my MSED in Elementary Reading and Mathematics from Walden University (Spring 2019)! This 2018-2019 school year will be my 15th year teaching in the Atlanta Public School system, and my 5th year being a part of the Morningside family. I have experience in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. I am also Orton-Gillingham trained. Outside of teaching I enjoy dancing, watching movies, and going to the beach. I am married and have 2 beautiful children. My 7 year old son Jordan is also a 2nd grader this year at MES! My daughter Charli just turn into a “Terrific” two year old in June and keeps me on my toes Lastly, I am dedicated and passionate about teaching the “whole” child. My goals are to prepare students to be academic scholars while also preparing them to be productive, responsible, and successful citizens in the world. So in addition to academic growth, I am invested in their social/emotional growth and progress. I look forward to working with you and your child this year! Sincerely, Mrs. Stroud
